Relax and enjoy a sense of freedom as you spend the afternoon exploring the Gibbston Valley wine region at your own leisure.
After a scenic and informative drive to the Kawarau Suspension Bridge, home of bungy jumping and the beginning of the Gibbston Valley, our driver will fit you to your bike and provide detailed trail and winery information before you set off along the Gibbston River Trail on your self-guided ride.
Travel at your leisure along the 9km easy off-road trail while you use our informative winery map to visit some of the renowned wineries, a cheese deli, tavern and gin room during the afternoon.
In a half day it's likely you'll get to 3 or 4 of the following choices:

After exploring this beautiful wine region we'll pick you up from Gibbston Tavern, or another pre-arranged point in the valley - we'll even go and collect any wine you purchased throughout the day. Relaxing day
Good quality bikes. Very easy trail to follow. Nice views of the canyon along the way.

Amazing experience
We had a really good time doing the bike trail . We found it much easier with the electric bikes otherwise the trail seems abit of a mixed bag in terms of difficulty. But most of it was quite easy . The hardest part would be the beginning before the first Gibbston winery stop where it takes over an hour or so to get there. I can’t imagine anyone overdoing with the wines as most of the trail could be dangerous or hard to cycle to. Overall the scenes were amazing , we didn’t make it to the final stop but the team were punctual to pick us up.
